Integrated security research and analysis think tank(ISRAT) is a not-for-profit, nonpolitical entity for security policy and state-building services, established in 2021 in Mogadishu, Somalia, and was founded by a group of experts with a deep understanding of the security sector management and capacity building.
ISRAT plans to provide professional and technical services in security and statebuilding through informed decision-making based on research in good governance promotion, security threats, risks and vulnerability studies,governance sector capacity building, public sphere development, and peacebuilding initiatives in Somalia and the Horn of Africa. In addition to this, ISRAT provides technical advisory services on security sector policy development cycle, coordination and management of counter-terrorism operations including financial investigations and deradicalization, strategic and operational information cycle management, planning and budget management, governance of security oversight institutions by inclusive panel and forum discussion and other participatory community engagement initiatives.
ISRAT would serve as the principal international source of public information on security strategic management, prevention and countering violent extremism, peacebuilding, policy and planning, and public sphere development; and as a resource for government, policy-makers, researchers, media, and activists in Somalia.
ISRAT founders have a combined experience of over 30 years in the industry,working as independent consultants and as government advisors.
